Upstate vs. Wofford Meet Schedule
Bulldog Limited Meet Schedule ![]()
The USC Upstate track and field team will compete in the second annual track and field dual-meet with Wofford on Friday afternoon, April 17, hosted by Broome High School, as announced by USC Upstate head track and field coach Jimmy Stephens.
"We're excited about doing this meet for the second straight year," Stephens said. "Last year when we started the meet, we wanted to turn it into an annual event. We weren't sure we would be able to work it out this year but things came together and we're excited to be competing with Wofford again this year."
Friday's meet will begin at 4:30 p.m. with the men's and women's 4X800-meter relay on the track side, and the men's and women's javelin throws in the field events. Action will continue into the early evening. The top three finishers will score points for their respective teams.
"It should be a really competitive meet," Stephens continued. "Bryan (Jackson) has done some good things at Wofford as the head coach. We hope the meet will help to generate interest in the sport throughout the Spartanburg community. It will be a good opportunity for many of our athletes to build confidence in their events as well as to compete against some comparable talent."
After Friday's competition, the Spartans will then travel to Athens, Ga., on Saturday to compete in the Georgia Bulldog Limited, which will begin at 9 a.m. with the women's and men's hammer throws. Running events are slated to begin at 12:10 p.m., with the men's and women's two-miles. Saturday's results can be found at www.georgiadogs.com.
