Kiawah Island, S.C. - Johanna Ebenhag and Cheryl Lo each shot 89 in the opening round of the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Classic Sunday afternoon, but the Spartans struggled up and down the lineup and stand 33rd in the tournament heading into the second round Monday.
Upstate counted three scores in the 90s Sunday and will look to improve on their scores when second round play starts Monday morning. The Spartans are playing the tournament without the services of No. 1 player Jennifer Judge. Upstate carded a 365 Sunday, its highest round of the season.
