Upstate Wraps up Competition at the ETSU Track & Field Invitational

Johnson City, Tenn. – The USC Upstate track and field team completed the final day of the ETSU Track & Field Invitational with four athletes recording new personal-bests on Saturday afternoon inside the Mountain States Health Alliance Athletics Center.
The Upstate women saw three personal-best marks set on Saturday while the men recorded one.
Martin Morrow turned in the top individual performance for the Spartans as he ran a 16:12.17 in the 5000-meter run unseeded for a 4th-place finish. Draneisha Griffin completed a solid individual weekend as her personal-best leap of 5.50-meters in the long jump seeded led to a 6th-place finish, the highest of the day for the women.
Along with the personal-best achieved by Griffin, both KeAndrea Ladson and Meagan Bailey recorded new career marks in their respective events. Ladson had a mark of 5.26-meters in the long jump seeded while Bailey posted a time of 2:44.65 in the 800-meter run unseeded.
Blake Hayes collected his second personal-best of the weekend following a throw of 12.11-meters in the shot put.
Upstate returns to action next weekend (Jan. 23-24) as it heads to Clemson for the Bob Pollock Invitational.
