Track Teams Experience Six Individual Event Wins at Appalachian State

Boone, N.C. - The USC Upstate indoor track and field teams earned six individual event victories on Friday at the App State Pre-Conference Open.
KeAndrea Ladson led a Spartan sweep of the top four positions in the 55-meter hurdles as she crossed the finish line with a time of 8.47. Kennedy Holton finished in second place, followed by Jazmine Burse in third and Destinie Sykes in fourth. Brenicke Johnson won the 55-meter dash in 7.24 seconds with Semaj Tolliver earning a third place finish. Kayla Jordon won the 400-meter dash in 59.46 seconds, just ahead of Courtney Bradley's time of 59.60. Essence Jackson led an Upstate 1-2 finish in the 800-meter run with a winning time of 2:22.78 followed by Ashleigh Torres. Leah Jostes finished in second place in the 3,000-meter run. Rebecca Elliott recorded a fourth place finish in the 800-meter run.
Dorian Jones won the mile run in 4:24.13 and was second in the 800-meter run. Griffin Eubanks followed Jones in fifth place in the mile. Theodore Kountourogiannis won the 3,000-meter run with a time of 8:57.22, ahead of Alex Love in fifth place. James Jones finished in third place in the 55-meter hurdles followed by Tanner Saunders in fifth. Saunders scored a runner-up finish in the 400-meter dash. Ezequiel Sepulveda and Patrick Jamison tied for second place in the 200-meter dash as each ran in different heats. Devlyn Philson finished in fourth place in the weight throw.
Upstate will journey to the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem next weekend for the Atlantic Sun Indoor Championships.
