Saunders Records Top-Five Finish at 49er Classic

Final Results
Charlotte, N.C. – Freshman Tanner Saunders' top-five finish in the 400-meter hurdles highlighted the second day of action for USC Upstate at the 49er Classic at Irwin Belk Track.
Saunders finished with a time of 54.23, just shy of a new school record he set last week. Saunders recorded a time of 54.65 in Friday's preliminaries.
For the women, Destinie Sykes finished in ninth place in the triple jump with a mark of 11.46 meters.
Upstate continues the outdoor season next weekend at the Raleigh Relays and the Adidas Winthrop Invitational.
