
Track Teams Earn Nine All-Conference Accolades on Final Day of A-Sun Championship

Jacksonville, Fla. – The USC Upstate outdoor track and field teams set five school records and won nine medals on the final day of the A-Sun Outdoor Track and Field Championship at Hodges Stadium on the campus of the University of North Florida on Saturday. The men's team finished in fourth place while the women finished in fifth place.
The 4x100-meter relay team of Semaj Tolliver, Heaven Briggs, Courtney Bradley and Brenicke Johnson finished in third place with a time of 46.35 to earn Third Team All-Conference laurels. Johnson claimed her second Third Team honor of the event with a third place finish in the 100-meter dash (12.09), with Tolliver finishing in eighth place (12.31). Briggs, Ashleigh Torres, Essence Jackson and Bradley earned Third Team All-Conference with a third place finish in the 4x400-meter relay in a new school-record time of 3:49.91.
Jackson finished in fourth place in the 800-meter run in a new school-record 2:11.51. Torres won the first section of the 800-meter run final, scoring a sixth place finish with a time of 2:14.77. Bradley finished in fifth place in the 400-meter dash (57.27). Destinie Sykes scored a sixth place finish in the triple jump (11.79 meters). Kennedy Holton finished in seventh place in the 100-meter hurdles (14.60). Holton and Sykes (1:04.05) finished in sixth and seventh place respectively in the 400-meter hurdles, with Holton setting her second school record of the weekend with a new time of 1:03.95. The Spartans had the fifth thru ninth finishing positions in the 200-meter dash, led by Tolliver in fifth place (25.18). Leah Jostes finished in seventh place in the 5,000-meter run (19:23.40), followed by Haley McCoy in eighth (19:38.10).
Tanner Saunders set a new school record in the 400-meter hurdles with a new record time of 52.91. Saunders earned Second Team All-Conference honors in the event. The 4x400-meter relay team consisting of Saunders, Darius Jones, Kyle Drollette and Patrick Jamison earned Third Team All-Conference with a new school-record time of 3:13.82. The 4x100-meter relay team of Jamison, Tyriek Sampson, James Jones and Ezequiel Sepulveda earned Second Team All-Conference honors after a runner-up finish as they crossed the finish line in 42.16. Jamison also earned Second Team All-Conference accolades in the 100-meter dash (10.98) while Sepelveda claimed Third Team honors (11.06). Jamison received Second Team honors in the 200-meter dash (21.99) with Sepelveda earning a fourth place performance (22.29).
Dorian Jones finished in fifth place in the 1,500-meter run (3:54.91). James Jones finished in fourth place in the 110-meter hurdles (14.88) followed by Saunders in fifth place (15.12). Darius Jones scored a sixth place finish in the 400-meter dash (49.55).
