Newcomers Lead Spartans at UNCG Early Bird Duals

Winston-Salem, N.C. – The USC Upstate men's and women's track and field teams set three new school records along with five event wins on Sunday at the season-opening UNCG Early Bird Duals held at the JDL Fast Track. All three new school records were set by freshmen student-athletes.
Noteworthy
- Sarah Hill claimed a pair of event wins as she won the 60-meter dash and 200-meter dash. Hill's 60-meter dash time of 7.57 seconds is the second-fastest in school history.
- Ari Jahanfar won the long jump with a school record mark of 7.48 meters. Jahanfar finished in ninth place in the 200-meter dash.
- Adanma Uzor had a memorable collegiate debut as she won the triple jump with a school-record mark of 11.83 meters. Uzor was the runner-up in the long jump.
- Tony Auguste was the winner in the weight throw. His mark of 18.70 meters is the second-best in school history.
- Terry Newell scored a third place finish in the 60-meter dash with a school record time of 6.98 seconds.
- Kalyn Brown finished in second place in the shot put and sixth place in the weight throw.
- Noah Walker finished in third place in the 60-meter hurdles.
- Fatima Pedroza finished in third place in the 800-meter run.
