Sykes Concludes Career at NCAA Regionals

Lexington, Ky. – USC Upstate senior Destinie Sykes earned a 45th place finish in the triple jump at the NCAA East Preliminaries on Saturday hosted by the University of Kentucky.
Sykes recorded a mark of 11.83 meters (38-9.75) in her third and final attempt. Sykes posted a mark of 11.38 meters (37-4) in her first attempt before fouling her second attempt.
At the ASUN Championships on May 13, Sykes won the triple jump with a school-record distance of 12.56 meters/41' 2.5". Sykes was the second Upstate female track and field student-athlete to qualify for the regional meet and the first jumper to qualify.
