
Track and Field Preview: Buccaneer Invitational

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The USC Upstate indoor track and field programs head to Johnson City, Tenn. to compete in ETSU's Buccaneer Invitational this Friday and Saturday, January 31 and February 1. Looking to continue building on early season successes, the Spartans are set to compete in 27 different events over the course of the weekend.

The USC Upstate indoor track and field programs competed in the Gamecock Opener January 17-18 where the Spartans saw four top-five finishes, 23 personal records, a school record, and a tied school record over the course of the two-day meet that took place at the University of South Carolina's indoor track and field facility.

Adanma Uzor set a school record in the women's triple jump with a leap of 12.21, breaking her previous school record of 12.16m from the Atlantic Sun Championships in 2018. ZoRyan Hendricks tied the school record in the men's 60m hurdles, which he set at the Clemson Opener earlier in the season, in the semifinals with a time of 8.02 seconds. Hendricks also picked up a runner-up finish in the men's triple jump with a mark of 14.03m.

The Spartans return to Columbia, S.C. to compete in the South Carolina Invitational February 7-8, 2020.
