Series History
This is the second all-time meeting between the Spartans and Monarchs. The last time these two teams met, Old Dominion defeated USC Upstate 77-46 in Norfolk, Va. on Nov. 13, 2012. Former Spartan standout Brittany Starling paced the team with 17 points in the game, going a perfect 7-for-7 from the floor and connecting on 2-of-4 free throws.

Ones to Watch
Upstate – Since making her debut against Alabama last week, freshman McKinley Brooks-Sumpter is averaging 16.0 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 2.7 steals per game. Denijsha Wilson was named Big South Conference Player of the Week by College Sports Madness this past Monday. She averaged 15.7 points in helping her team to a 2-1 record on the week.
Old Dominion – Victoria Morris is the leading scorer for the Monarchs through the first three games this season, averaging 17.7 points per game. Amari Young leads her team on the glass with 10 rebounds per game while also putting up 13.7 points per game. Ajah Wayne also averages double-digits with 12.3 points per game and nine rebounds per game.

Coach Burke will see her first taste of Big South Conference play as the Spartans travel to Rock Hill to face Winthrop in a back-to-back series Dec. 17-18. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday.
