NEW ORLEANS, La. – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) honored teams that stood out in all phases of the student-athlete experience during the 2020 track & field season by announcing their All-Academic Awards.
USC Upstate women's track and field was honored as an All-Academic Team with a 3.28 team-GPA. Overall, there were 264 different programs honored for their academic excellence.
"We are proud of the women's team and how, even with the transitioning to online classes, they were able to stay focused and achieve this honor," said head coach Carson Blackwelder.
To be named a USTFCCCA All-Academic Team, the cumulative GPA (not 2018-19 academic year, not semester) for all student-athletes on the institution's NCAA Squad List for Indoor and/or Outdoor Track and Field must be 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period, certifiable by either NCAA Faculty Rep or NCAA Compliance Coordinator or Registrar's Office.
