Familiar Flat Ground, Spartans Return to Winston-Salem for Coros Collegiate Challenge

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The Spartans return to flat and familiar territory Sunday as they head back to Winston-Salem for the Coros Collegiate Challenge, formerly known as the JDL Flat is Fast Invitational.

Event Preview

The Spartans had a successful Gamecock Opener their last time out. Kevon Chapman took the only event win of the day in the Men's Weight Throw, but the Spartans earned 14 top-five finishes with eight of those being podium placements. Twenty-Seven Spartans set personal bests across 14 separate events in Columbia.

The smaller contingent of Spartans heading up to Winston-Salem hopes they can keep the momentum going and that the JDL facility treats them as well as it did during the Visit Winston-Salem College Kick Off. During that event, USC Upstate claimed three outright event wins and Channing Ferguson was named Big South Co-Men's Field Athlete of the Week for his performance in the Long and High Jumps.
