For the 11th straight season (2012-13-pres.), USC Upstate men's golf travels to the Sunshine State to take on the notable TPC Sawgrass as the spring portion of the team's 2022-23 schedule commences at the Sea Best Invitational. The stout 13-team field features six teams in the top 60 of the GolfStat rankings with five of the six teams falling within the top 45 of the rankings.

Leading the Spartans as they return to the course for the spring semester, senior Brady Hinkle posted a team-low 75.83 stroke average across four events on the fall schedule as he was one of three Spartans to compete in all four fall events. He enters the spring with the fifth-lowest event score relative to par in the Big South this season, firing seven-under-par (209) at the Allstate/Streamsong Invitational in the team's last trip to the Sunshine State.

As a team, Upstate carries a 306.58 team scoring average into the spring season as it begins its five-event slate in preparation for the Big South Men's Golf Championships. Returning to the state of Florida to begin the spring season, the Spartans look to build upon their performance from its last trip—the Allstate/Streamsong Invitational to open the fall schedule—where each member of the team's lineup turned in a career-low 54-hole total.
