SPARTANBURG, SC – The USC Upstate men's golf team wrapped up day three at The Johnson Group Carolina Cup, placing two golfers in the top 30 and securing an eighth-place team finish. Competing independently, Junior Herman Holst and Senior Barrett Josey led the Spartans with 24th and 28th place finishes, respectively.
Holst's consistent play on the par 3s proved vital, as he tied for seventh in scoring on those holes. Josey also delivered a strong performance by shooting par during today's final round that vaulted him ten spots up the leaderboard.
Caden Sanders, a Johannesburg native, narrowly missed the top-30, finishing in 31st place. Sanders also tied for first with two Eagles in the tournament.Â
