
Upstate Men's and Women's Golf are Set to Compete in the Golfweek/Stifel Spring Challenge

PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. – USC Upstate men's and women's golf teams are heading to the coast for the three-day Golfweek/Stifel Spring Challenge. Each tournament is set to take place once again at True Blue Golf Club (men) and Caledonia Golf & Fish Club (women).  There were highlights on both sides of the tournament last year, including the women finishing fifth out of 19 teams. Jaskaran Sohal led the men's team through the first two rounds before weather conditions ended the tournament early.

Golfers to Watch
Men:Â Jackson Stone has had three top-ten finishes so far this season, and led the Spartans at the UNCW Seahawk Intercollegiate with a top-30 finish. Stone currently has the fourth-lowest 54-hole total in the Big South. Ross Wright was another steady presence for Upstate in the UNCW Seahawk Intercollegiate.
Women: Rylie Kosney is a golfer to watch and has had three top-25 finishes so far this spring. Most recently, Kosney finished the Low Country Intercollegiate second in the birdie category with 10. Madison Dixon enters this tournament having a top-ten finish.

About the Courses
True Blue Golf Club was the fourth course designed by Mike Strantz. The course incorporates native grasses and vegetation to maintain the character of the property. The par 72 course can stretch 7,126 yards but is playable for all ages.
Caledonia Golf and Fish Club is another course designed by Mike Strantz. It is one of the premier golf courses in the southern Grand Strand. It contains champion Bermuda greens, as well as flowers, shrubs, and live oaks.

The Spartans men's golf team will prepare for the Big South Championship held April 20 – 23.
Upstate women's golf will compete in the Tennessee Spring Challenge on April 7, the last tournament before the Big South Championship from April 13 - 16.
