Men's Golf Looks for a Successful Return Trip to Fripp Island for the Big South Golf Championship

FRIPP ISLAND, S.C. – USC Upstate men's golf earned the fourth seed in the Big South Men's Golf Championship. The championship will be held April 21-23 on Ocean Creek Golf Course, with rounds one and two of stroke play on Monday. The final round of stroke play will be held on Tuesday, and the top four teams will advance to match play on Wednesday.
In the fall, the Spartans made program history by claiming the Fripp Island Intercollegiate Title, playing Ocean Creek Golf Course extremely well. Alec Prentice finished the tournament tied for first place and set a school record of 63 in the second round. Four other Spartans secured top-15 finishes.

Golfers to Watch:
Jackson Stone enters the tournament ranked fourth in the conference for scoring average (72.43) and fifth for top-ten finishes with three. The last time Stone played on Ocean Creek, he finished tied for eighth.
Ross Wright is another golfer to watch in this tournament and has been impressive as a freshman. He finished in the top 25 at the Jackrabbit Invitational and has carded his lowest score of 68. Wright also went 2-0-1 at the Match Play earlier this season.
