Event Preview
USC Upstate track and field begins the 2026 outdoor season at the 49er Classic. In the Big South Outdoor Preseason Poll, the men were picked third, and the women were picked to finish sixth. When the Spartans opened last season at the 49er Classic, two school records fell.
They enter the outdoor season after a strong indoor season that ended with the men's team scoring 106 points at the Big South Indoor Championships, the most points scored by a men's team at a conference championship. The Spartans also set a total of 10 school records.

Athletes to Watch
Shriyaan Krishnaraj closed the indoor season with two school records in the men's 400m, earning silver. He looks to continue momentum in the 400m Hurdles. Michael Moody also enters the outdoor season after earning a medal in the men's long jump.
Jenelda Arishtil is a thrower to watch after earning silver at the Big South Indoor Championships. At this meet last year, Jordan Thornton earned a top finish in the 5000m.
