Men's 4x800m Relay Team Breaks School Record of 14 Years as Spartans Open Outdoor Season at 49er Classic

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Starting the outdoor season, USC Upstate track and field made the short trip to Charlotte for the 49er Classic Friday and Saturday. A total of 23 Spartans posted personal bests alongside 21 top performances.
Day One: Shriyaan Krishnaraj secured the event in the men's 400m Hurdles with a time of 52.79. Freshmen Saniyah Joyner and Kambrayah Avery each set personal bests in women's discus.Â
Day Two: The men's 4x800m relay team of Elias Harrison, Cameron Moors, Jacob Wren, and Josh Gillis set a new school record, logging a time of 7:41.31 for the event win. The previous school record had stood for 14 years.
