Volleyball Receives the 2026 AVCA Team Academic Award

LEXINGTON, K.Y. – The 2026 Team Academic Award was announced by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) on July 23^rd, 2026.

USC Upstate's volleyball team receives this honor with a cumulative GPA of 3.57 for the Spring 2026 semester.

This marks the fourth time the Spartans has received the AVCA Team Academic Award in the Ali Skayhan era. Skayhan talks about the team's commitment to success on and off of the floor, "We're so proud of what our student-athletes continue to accomplish in the classroom! Academics are a core part of who we are as a program, and we're grateful to the faculty and professors across campus who invest in our student-athletes every day. This award is a reflection of that shared commitment to excellence at Upstate."

The Spartan volleyball team also had two student-athletes who earned a perfect 4.0 GPA during the Spring 2026 semester:

Savannah Page | Senior | Boiling Springs, S.C.

Criteria to receive the AVCA Team Academic award includes maintaining a year-long grade-point average of at least a 3.30 on a 4.0 scale.
