SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Coming off its first victory of the 2026 season, USC Upstate men's soccer returns to the road Tuesday evening as the Spartans travel to Johnson City, Tennessee, for a non-conference matchup against ETSU. Kickoff from Summers-Taylor Stadium is scheduled for 6 p.m.
Upstate enters Tuesday's contest with a 1-2-0 record through its first three matches of head coach Michael Antoniewicz's second season. The Spartans opened the year with consecutive road contests, falling 2-1 at Georgia State before suffering a 4-0 setback against South Carolina in Columbia.
The Spartans responded in impressive fashion in their home opener Thursday, earning a 3-0 victory over West Florida at County University Soccer Stadium. The win not only put Upstate in the victory column for the first time this season but also gives the Spartans momentum as they begin another challenging stretch away from Spartanburg.
Tuesday begins a stretch of three consecutive road matches for Upstate. Following its trip to ETSU, the Spartans head to Birmingham to face UAB on Saturday, Sept. 5 before traveling to Winston-Salem for a matchup with Wake Forest on Tuesday, Sept. 8. Upstate then returns home to host College of Charleston on Sept. 12.
