2020 (Sophomore): In a shortened season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Sydow went 1-7 overall and saw action at courts No. 3-No. 6…In doubles action the sophomore went 3-4 overall as a member of the Spartans No. 1 doubles tandem.
2019 (Freshman): Competed in 17 singles matches and 14 doubles matches during his freshman season. Won his first match of the season, defeating Belmont Abbey’s Mike Nguyen, 6-0 and 6-2. Also had wins against Hampton in the regular season and again against Hampton in the Big South Tennis Championship. Had 5 wins on the season in doubles matches, defeating Belmont Abbey, Queens (N.C.), North Dakota, Bethune-Cookman, and UNC Asheville. Sydow’s doubles matches helped the team earn the doubles point in 4 out of the 5 matches. He recorded the lone doubles win during the match against North Dakota.
