
Ladson, Bailey Open Weekend for Upstate at Winthrop Invitational

Rock Hill, S.C. – KeAndrea Ladson and Meagan Bailey opened competition for the USC Upstate track and field team at the Winthrop Invitational Thursday afternoon as the duo participated in four of seven events to start the women's heptathlon.
Ladson currently sits in second place with 2,764 points while Bailey is 12th at 2,294 points.
Ladson posted three finishes of fourth or better on Thursday and recorded two personal-best performances. The sophomore had a best finish of third in the 200-meter dash with a personal-best time of 26.75, and was fourth in the 100-meter hurdles and tied for fourth in the high jump. She also eclipsed her personal-best in the shot put following a throw of 9.95-meters.
Bailey compiled three personal-best marks during day one in the 100-meter hurdles, 200-meter dash and shot put. The senior ran a 17.06 in the 100-meter hurdles and 28.06 in the 200-meter dash, while turning in a toss of 9.57-meters in the shot put.
The final three events of the women's heptathlon begin the schedule of events Friday morning beginning at 10 a.m. with the long jump. The javelin throw follows at 11 a.m. with the 800-meter run slated for 12:30 p.m.
