
Track Competes on Opening Day of 49er Classic

Charlotte, N.C. – The USC Upstate track and field teams had three top-10 finishes on Friday on the first day of the 49er Classic hosted by Charlotte at Irwin Belk Track.
KeAndrea Ladson finished in ninth place in the 100-meter hurdles with Kayla Jordon also finishing in ninth place in the 400-meter dash. Destinie Sykes finished in 10th in the 400-meter hurdles.
For the men, Tanner Saunders finished in fifth place in the 400-meter hurdle preliminaries and will compete in the finals tomorrow afternoon. James Jones finished in 11th place in the 110-meter hurdles. Theodore Kountourogiannis finished in 11th place in the 5,000-meter run.
The meet continues tomorrow beginning at 10 a.m. with the men's shot put and women's 10,000-meter run.
