SPARTANBURG, S.C. – USC Upstate track and field is nearing the end of indoor season as the Spartans head to Blacksburg, Va. this weekend for their last regular-season meet before the conference championships.
Upstate is set to compete in the Virginia Tech Challenge this Friday and Saturday against athletes from 15 other schools. The Spartans will participate in 15 different track events and eight different field events over the course of the two-day meet.

Last Time Out
Junior thrower Tony Auguste picked up a win, a school record, and a pair of personal records at the South Carolina Invitational February 7-8. He hit a 15.11m mark to take gold in the shot put and broke a school record with a 4th place toss of 18.86m in the weight throw invite. His performance also earned him Big South Field Athlete of the Week honors.
As a team, the Spartans saw one win, one school record, five top-10 finishes, and 22 personal records at the South Carolina Invitational.
UP next for the Spartans
Upstate will return to Blacksburg, Va. next weekend to compete in the Big South Conference Indoor Championships Feb. 28 – 29.
