Event Preview
For the final time during the 2021-22 fall campaign, USC Upstate men's golf hits the course, competing for the second time within a week as the Spartans compete at the Daniel Island Intercollegiate at the Daniel Island Club in Daniel Island, S.C.

Sophomore Max Dupree led the Spartans at the Battle at Black Creek, claiming a runner-up finish as he fashioned scores of 74-66-69-209 (-7). In addition to his runner-up finish—his best career placement and his second career All-Tournament Team nod—he garnered his first Big South Golfer of the Week honors.

Dupree's second-round 66 (-6) marked the lowest round of his career while tying for the fifth-lowest overall round and the third-lowest relative to par in program history.

Sophomore Zander Briggs followed Dupree on the leaderboard as he carded a career-low 54-hole total, marking in a 222 (+6) at the event. He fashioned scores of 74-75-73-222 to finish tied for 44^th as his final round 73 tied for the lowest round of his career.

As a team, Upstate finished 12th in the field—tops among Big South teams, besting Winthrop in the standings—behind scores of 302-293-301-883.
