Four Spartans Earn Gold at Buccaneer Invitational

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – USC Upstate track & field returned to competition this weekend at the Buccaneer Invitational in Johnson City, Tenn. The weekend was highlighted by six gold medals among four Spartans, 18 top-10 finishes on the women's side, and 21 top-10 finishes on the men's side. Additionally, 14 Spartans recorded personal bests at the meet.
"This was our first meet in almost a year, and the athletes did a great job of competing. We saw a lot of top finishes," said head coach Carson Blackwelder. "This meet got the athletes back into that competitive mind set and refreshed everyone on the little details it takes to be successful. Next week, we will see a sharper team because of this meet."
