Auguste Shatters School Record, Bryant and Henderson Win 100m at Charlotte Invite

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – USC Upstate track & field competed at the Charlotte Invite this weekend and collectively had a strong day of competition on Friday before persevering through the weather conditions on Saturday.
Tony Auguste broke a school record for the second weekend in a row, this time with a 61.19 mark in the men's shot put.
The Spartans swept the 100m dash as Angelnique Bryant took the win on the women's side with a time of 11.90, and Jared Henderson won it on the men's side with a time of 10.63.
"It was two very different days between Friday and Saturday. Friday had perfect weather, and the athletes took advantage of it with a school record, personal bests, and all-time performances. Saturday was rainy, chilly, and challenging. While we did not see PR's on Saturday, we saw our athletes deal with the elements and be tough," said head coach Carson Blackwelder. "We now have exams and will be preparing for our conference championships. We are excited to see what our team can accomplish at the Big South Championships."
