Track & Field to Compete in Gamecock Invite and Hub City Invite

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – USC Upstate track and field is set to compete in a pair of meets this weekend, starting with the Hub City Invite hosted by Newberry in Spartanburg on Friday, April 9 followed by the Gamecock Invite hosted by South Carolina in Columbia on Saturday, April 10.
The throwing events in the Hub City Invite will be contested at the USC Upstate throws facility beginning at 11 a.m. Running events and other field events will take place at the Jim & Elaine Killbreth Track. The Spartans begin competition in running events at 12:30 p.m.
On Saturday, competition begins at 9 a.m. for running and field events at the Gamecock Invite. Please note, spectators are not allowed at this meet.
Last Time Out
Angelnique Bryant dominated the competition at the Adidas Winthrop Invite as she won the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.88 as well as the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.81. The women also earned another win as the quartet of Bryant, Sharetha Odom, Jasmine Brown, and Anastasia Kinlaw took gold in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 46.24.
On the men's side, Jared Henderson took home the win in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.62.
The women had nine top 10 finishes this weekend while the men had 12. Seven of those 12 finishes from the men rank in the top 10 in Upstate's program history. Additionally, 23 Spartans also set personal bests this weekend.
UP Next for the Spartans
The Spartans will return to Columbia next weekend to compete in the USC Open on Saturday, April 17.
