Leading Men's Golf, Barrett Josey Earns First Career Top-15 Finish With Career-Low 54-Hole Scoring Total at the Graeme McDowell Invitational

ONEONTA, Ala. – Back on the course for the second time during the 2023-24 campaign, USC Upstate men's golf returned to the Graeme McDowell Invitational for the second straight season as play wrapped Tuesday with Upstate seeing five golfers post scores of 232 or better for the second consecutive event.

Leading the Spartans at the event, junior Barrett Josey posted career-low 18 and 54-hole scoring totals en route to tying for 11th on the final leaderboard. Earning his best career finish and first career top-15 placement, he fashioned scores 69-70-73-212, completing the tournament at four-under-par. His opening round 69 marked the lowest of his career and the lowest for a Spartan at the event as he carded each of Upstate's rounds below par.

Each member of the team's lineup competing in their second event of the season improved their scores from the season-opening Allstate/Streamsong Invitational. Senior Zander Briggs posted scores of 74-76-71-221, freshman Alec Prentice wrote down marks of 74-72-77-223, and freshman Cameron Biddle carded totals of 78-73-81-232 as the trio joined Josey in improving their scores from the season opener.

Prentice's 54-hole scoring total of 223 marked a career-low with his second-round 72 tying the lowest round of his career and marking the Spartans' third round at or below par at the event. Rounding out the Upstate lineup, sophomore Christophe Palmans posted marks of 76-75-80-231 while senior Panop Norasing carded scores of 76-83-79-238.

As a team, Upstate fashioned totals of 300-296-307-903 as the team's second-round 296 stands as the team's lowest 54-hole total of the season. The total also marks the lowest for the program since the first round of the 2023 Big South Men's Golf Championship.
