INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Representing USC Upstate men's basketball and the Big South Conference, sophomore guard CJ Rich has been selected to the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Student-Athlete Engagement Group for the 2024-25 season.
Initially established for women's basketball in 2020 and adopted by men's basketball in 2023, the Division I Basketball Student-Athlete Engagement Groups were formed with the goal of amplifying student-athletes' voices in basketball on key initiatives, legislation, and issues. Both engagement groups are made up of one student-athlete representative from each Division I conference, and the groups have a direct connection to the Division I Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
"It was a humbling experience to be selected, by leaders of the Big South, not only to represent USC Upstate, but to represent the Big South on a national level." described Rich. "Anytime you get a chance to be a part of a group that is part of enhancing the game of basketball, that's exciting."
