DADE CITY, Fla. – Playing in the sunshine state again, USC Upstate men's golf traveled back to Florida to compete in The Match Play. Upstate went head-to-head with Dayton, Evansville, and Bowling Green State.

The first round went in favor of Dayton overall, but Clayton Taylor and Ross Wright continued to shine. Taylor won his match, finishing 1 up, while Wright tied his opponent. Both shot three birdies in the round.

The Spartans bounced back in the second round, securing a 4-2 victory over Evansville. Cameron Biddle won 6&4, using an eagle and a birdie to finish even with par. Also securing a win was Caden Sanders (7&5), posting six birdies to his scorecard. Herman Holst shot four strokes below his competition on the back nine, securing the tie. Also earning a tie in the second round was Clayton Taylor, posting a scorecard that included one eagle and six birdies. Ross Wright took his match 2&1.

With the final round going in favor of the Eagles, Ross Wright (3&2) and Cameron Biddle (tied) led the Spartans.

UP Next for the Spartans
The Spartans will have some time off before traveling to Nevada for spring break, competing in the 2025 Jackrabbit Invitational March 7-8th.
