Clayton Taylor and Ross Wright Lead the Spartans at the SeaBest Invitational

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – USC Upstate men's golf competed in the SeaBest Invitational for their first match of the spring season. Competing in a tournament where seven of the 12 teams rank in the top 100, Upstate showed resiliency and effort, playing the last 25 holes of the tournament under three.

The Spartans were led by Clayton Taylor, who finished tied for 33rd with athletes from #48 Kennesaw State, #93 Florida Gulf Coast, and #78 North Alabama. He finished the final round -2, which included five birdies. All around, he posted scores of 72-76-69 for a total of 217.

Another strong performance came from Ross Wright. Shining in the second round with a total of six birdies, Wright tied his career-low of 68. He finished the tournament going 75-68-80. Cameron Biddle finished the third round -2, highlighted by an eagle on the 18th hole.

UP Next for the Spartans
The Spartans will compete in The Match Play located in Dade City, Fla., from February 10th to 11th.
