Bendinger was looked at as a top 20 bucket getter in D1 JUCO and will be a great addition for the culture being built during the Marty Richter era.
SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Mason Bendinger is continuing his academic and athletic career with the Men's Basketball program as part of the 2025-26 signing class for Upstate Men's Basketball, announced by head coach Marty Richter. Bendinger comes to Upstate after spending two seasons at Salt Lake Community College.
Bendinger was an All-Conference player for the Bruins averaging 17.5 points per game, including a season-high of 45 points against Western Nebraska Community College on November 1, 2024. Bendinger is a guard who possess a 36 percent shooting clip from beyond the arc, can crash the boards having 40+ offensive rebounds and 70+ defensive rebounds, and clogs the passing lanes on the defensive end where he had five games with 2+ steals. Within the system of Head Coach Marty Richter, Bendinger can spread the floor with his three-point shooting while challenging opposing defenses to guard with aggressive takes to the lane.
"Mason's ability to score the basketball at all 3 levels will be a huge asset for our team next year", said Richter. "His versatility will allow him to bring depth to the wing position."
