Price Picks Up Top 10 After Remarkable Collegiate Debut; Spartans Finish Fourth Overall at Golfweek Fall Challenge

PAWLEY'S ISLAND, S.C. – In his first collegiate tournament, freshman Daniel Price brought home a 6th place finish after carding a 54-hole score of 209 (-7) while leading the USC Upstate men's golf team to a 4th place finish at the 2026 Golfweek Fall Challenge. The Spartans fielded four freshmen during the event.
As a team, USC Upstate turned in a combined score of 861 (-3) while collecting a top 5 finish overall. The Spartans opened the tournament with a team score of 296 before netting their lowest score of 281 in round two, followed by a solid 284 during the concluding 18 holes.
Price bookended his tournament with a pair of rounds at 3-under, 69 while firing a 71 (-1) on day two of the event. Price led the field with 19 birdies and finished 6-under in scoring on par 4s.
Newcomer Pete Chanha made the most improvement over his three rounds, jumping 20 spots on the final day to finish in a tie for 23rd. After turning in a 77 (+5) in the opening round, Chanha turned in a 2-under, 70 in the second round before capping his tournament with a low round of 69 (-3).
Carsen Stanfield also shot under par in two of his three rounds, finishing with a 54-hole combined score of 217 (+1). His best round came on day two, carding a 2-under, 70, while checking in just inside the top 30 at 29th.
Lucas Cai and Alec Prentice rounded out the scoring for the Spartans, each shooting a three-day total of 227 (+11).
Georgia Southern took home the team title with a combined team score of 838 (-26) while the UT-Martin's Drew Williams earned individual medalist after a 54-hole score of 206 (-10).

USC Upstate will now turn its attention to the GMAC Invitational hosted by the University of Alabama Birmingham on September 20-22.
