Before USC Upstate: Played two seasons of baseball at Kaskaskia College in Centralia, Ill… Earned votes for the Great Rivers All-Conference team after posting a 3-3 mark in 45.2 innings of work with 58 punch outs as a sophomore… Finished the regular season ranked 23rd nationally for strikeouts per nine innings (11.4)… Was a starting pitcher for the Kitchener Panthers Inter-county summer baseball team in 2010… Picked up Most Valuable Pitcher honors after finishing 5-1 with three complete game shutouts, including one one-hitter and one two-hitter.
High School: Was a four-year letterwinner at King City High School in King City, Ontario… Was named team Most Value Player honors as a senior… Squad earned a pair of runner-up finishes in the York Region Championships… Was also a member of the hockey and volleyball squads at King City HS… Also played with the Thornhill Reds baseball team… Club won back-to-back provincial championships… Tossed a complete game shutout to help Thornhill claim first title… Delivered a walkoff hit in extra innings in one tournament game and threw a no-hitter in the semifinals during team’s run to second-straight championship.
