Before USC Upstate: Earned a total of seven letters at Woodland High School... Served as a team captain in 2010 and finished the year batting .424 with 13 extra-base hits to go along with 31 runs and 25 RBI... Batted .420 as a junior while scoring 18 runs and driving in 12... During sophomore season, finished with a .481 average complimented by 22 runs and 18 RBI... Totalled 42 stolen bases during his high school career... Was named to the South Carolina All-State team in 2009 and was voted the top offensive player in 2009 and 2010... Was a member of the National Honor Society and graduated with honors from Woodland... Also played football during his prep career.
